The 2^nd International Symposium, organized by Vita e Salute San Raffaele University (Milan), aims to clarify the biological and clinical information on the management of periodontal and peri-implant soft tissues and the needs for the different surgical techniques in the clinical practice.

Following the success of the first Symposium (2016),  when more than 500 Dentists gathered in our University to receive the newest information on the topic, the 2^nd Symposium is establishing a tradition  in Milan  that will be continued every two years and it also establishes  a link between the San Raffaele and the International Periodontology and Implantology. 

The topic, soft tissue management, is of great importance, not only for the obvious aesthetic implications, but also because of the influence that soft tissues might have in stabilizing tissue around teeth and implants. Moreover the symposium aims to evaluate the importance of soft tissue management in surgical technique directed to reconstruct alveolar bone before or together with implant placement.

This Symposium also clearly states the importance that our University gives to the evaluation and treatment of periodontal and peri-implant tissues, as the prevention of the diseases that may afflict them.

Surgical techniques will be the protagonists of the meeting providing all colleagues with practical as well as biological information useful in the day-by-day clinical approach.

The  Symposium will offer to the Participants lectures on the biological rationale for treatment as well as presentations and discussions of the latest surgical techniques aimed to achieve stable results in the reconstruction of periodontal and peri-implant soft tissues.
